INDIVIDUAL MENTORING
FOR 5RHYTHMS TEACHERS AND TEACHERS IN TRAINING
For me, being a 5Rhythms mentor feels like a natural expansion of my work as a teacher, organizer, and producer. It brings me deep joy to offer a safe space to share and express—a place where I can witness, listen, and create the possibility for you to hear your own answers.
My journey didn’t start on the stage, but behind the scenes. I began organizing the first 5Rhythms workshops in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1998. That experience taught me how to build a community from zero and gave me the tools I would later need as a teacher.
Starting as an organizer and translator gave me a unique foundation. Promoting and marketing the practice for others freed me from questions of my own self-worth; I was simply sure of the value of the this practice. Translating for my teachers taught me to open my channels and become a “vessel” for the teachings. Crucially, I saw the human side of the “teacher on the pedestal”—I saw that even amazing movement masters need a cup of tea just the way they like it, rest, and clarity.
When I stepped onto the teaching path myself, I noticed a sudden loneliness. The dynamics changed; I couldn’t speak with my dancing friends the same way about what I saw and felt as a teacher. I also struggled with comparing myself to colleagues, often viewing them as competition rather than community.
I realized that what I missed most in my own upbringing was guidance—true, two-way communication and listening to learn.
This is how I see my role as a mentor. It takes courage to face ourselves, to see how our words and actions affect others, and to admit, “I need a hand here; I’m turning in circles.”

"Silvija helped me to put an order in my creative process, as well as to awaken my own creaturehood. It was for me a learning path that transcends the workshop—connecting me with my deep purpose as a teacher and bringing me calm."
Brenda Cohen Sabban, 5Rhythms Teacher, Argentina
"Thank you very much for your guidance. It really made me staccato. Simple, clear and defined. I felt that my time was appreciated very much by you. I loved very much the way you made me work on my class by questions instead of offering your own structure. I call this mentoring."
Zoltan Upor, 5Rhythms Teacher, Hungary
"Silvija’s professional guidance has been of great help to my classes. Whatever issue I brought up, she had practical and hands-on teaching exercises to offer. I felt her mentorship as kind, supportive and non-judgemental."
Mari Eriksson Rosman, 5Rhythms teacher, Norway
"My mentoring from Silvija helped me tremendously. I received an abundance of learning: from practical advice on workshop design and articulation of the work, to feedback on integrity and holding space. She helps me stay awake to my special gifts, away from the voice of doubt. Silvija is a true solid rock—a perfect balance of great practical experience, tremendous intuition, and deep connection. I trust her 100%."

Our challenges as teachers change over time—they are different when we just graduate compared to 5, 10, or 20 years down the road. Whether you are a Teacher in Training or an experienced facilitator, we can explore:
The Craft of Teaching
- Embodiment: Deepening your physical connection to the 5Rhythms.
- Music: Learning to listen and sort your library, finding each Rhythm in the music, and creating diverse Waves.
- Structure: How to build a class or workshop (beginning, middle, end) and how/when to create and use exercises.
- The Formless Form: How the form supports the formless, and how the formless inspires the form.
Your Unique Voice
- Articulation: Presentation of what you are offering.
- Inspiration: How to be an inspiration and how to find inspiration for yourself.
- Style: Finding your own authentic style and unique offering.
The Business & Production
- Organizing: Managing crews, registration, and installations for yourself and others.
- Promotion: Practical advice on flyers, photos, websites, newsletters, and social media.
- Community: Co-creation and communication with colleagues locally and globally.
The Inner Life of the Teacher
- Holding Space: Handling challenging situations with students and navigating the dynamics of the room.
- Self-Care: The emotional aspect of teaching—processing what we witness in the group and how it affects us.
Being a 5Rhythms teacher is such an alive place of service, full of waves and surprises.
I look forward to the opportunity to ride that edge with you.
