Silvija Tomčik
Silvija Tomčik first encountered Gabrielle Roth’s teachings in 1995 through her book, Maps to Ecstasy. That discovery lit a fire that has never gone out. Soon after, she began bringing 5Rhythms® to Croatia, Slovenia, and neighbouring countries, planting seeds of a practice that has since touched many lives.
At that time she was active in Antiwar Campaign Croatia, co-founded Volunteer’s Center and worked in Centre for Peace Studies.
Trained by Gabrielle in the Waves (2001) and Heartbeat (2010) levels, Silvija was a core member of the 5Rhythms Teacher Training Staff with Jonathan Horan from 2013 to 2020.
Over the years, she has offered the full spectrum of teachings — from weekly classes to ongoing groups, from local classes to international journeys, and from weekend workshops to five-day retreats. She creates dedicated workshops for 5Rhythms teachers, mentors teachers on their path, and continues to expand her reach through online offerings.
In 2018, she published WAVES: Voice and Vision, a book created in collaboration with 20 artists.
"You challenge under many different ways. It affects personal, social, cultural, religious “reprogramming”. Raw and grounded."

“You blew my mind — unapologetically you: strong, authentic, soft. Thank you for the music, the boundaries, the brilliance. I always learn and heal.”

Silvija’s teaching blends sharp clarity with imagination, humor with wisdom, and a vast range of music. Her grounded presence and embodied way of dancing invite others into the freedom of the body—to discover their own unique movement, their own healing, and their own dance.
A “born teacher” who is deeply heart-centered, Silvija is known for her ability to create and hold a safe space where deep transformation can happen. She leads with authenticity and vulnerability, sharing intimate stories that allow others to feel seen and supported. Her workshops are deeply inclusive, offering a beautiful balance of strong structure and the freedom to truly let go.
Beyond the movement, Silvija brings a marvellous humor to the floor—a “healing medicine” that makes the work of self-discovery feel lighter and more accessible. She serves as a prism, translating the rhythms into a tangible experience of self-love and connection.
She lives in Zagreb and is happy to be Tara and Numa’s mother.
